Recognizing the demand for modern High Capacity special access services in West Central Illinois the Multi Carrier Network (“MCN”) working group was established in 2012 to provide Ethernet Private Line services to SMB, Enterprise and Carrier clients in West Central Illinois.  The MCN is comprised of 11 individual networks that are interconnected together to provide reliable special access transport services.  In 2014 network POPs at 350 E Cermak in Chicago and 900 Walnut in St. Louis were added.  The MCN is able to provide TDM, OCn, and Ethernet Private Line services throughout our markets and beyond.

2011

Adams deployed a state-of-the-art DWDM system that enabled the first EPL circuits to be provisioned on what would become the MCN network.

2012

Adams deployed its first commercial Ethernet Private Line service. Conversations and planning for the MCN working group began, and quickly expanded to include MTC Communications, Inc., Century Enterprises, Inc., and Cass Cable TV, Inc., thus creating the core of the MCN working group.

2013

The MCN working group deployed it’s 25th EPL circuit.

2014

The MCN working group deployed it’s 50th EPL circuit. Western Illinois Network Services, Nova Cablevision, and Madison Communications, Inc. joined the MCN network. A network POP was turned up at 900 Walnut St, St. Louis, MO. A network POP was turned up at 350 E Cermak, Chicago, IL.

2015

Redundancy was added between Chicago and St. Louis. Capacity was increased by 33% to 30Gb to our St. Louis, MO POP.

2017

MCN surpasses $1,000,000 Annual Revenue for the first time.

2019

Over forty cell tower contracts awarded, a record for MCN.

2020

100G Core Transport Network deployed between Quincy and Chicago and St. Louis, providing both redundancy and capacity to our customers.

2021

Over three-hundred ethernet private line and cell tower circuits in-service. Fourteen partners participating in MCN. $15 million in contracts currently in term.
